Coffee cupping, or also known as coffee tasting, is the practice of sampling and determining the aromas, tastes and the mouthfeel of brewed coffee. This is mainly done by coffee roasters and other espresso experts, often in the context of barista and cupping competitions.

The spoon’s shape facilitates the lightning fast ‘slurping’ action.

Slurping loudly means you are sucking the coffee in with such velocity that it is aerated and sprayed across your entire palate.

This is the one time slurping is not rude – remember the louder the better !!!
