I can now attest to the fact that retention adversely affects the grinders performance. By clearing out stuck grounds, the grinder started to function as expected. Rather pleased with this mod. Be careful with the little locking clips as they’re not affixed to anything and you could easily lose them unknowingly. Build quality is better than I expected as it’s rather sturdy. I thought it’d look out of place once installed, but it doesn’t really affect the aesthetics at all.

This bellows works nicely with the Eureka Atom too and it completely transformed my workflow. I can now use the Eureka like a single dose grinder and retention dropped from 2.4g to only 0.1g. The bellows action is just enough to clear out the grinding chamber and shute without disturbing the ground coffee in the basket. Happy days!
